Operational Excellence Award

Creganna has received a silver Excellence Award from the Irish Medical Device Association (IMDA) in the category of Operational Excellence. Creganna’s silver Award recognizes the company’s achievement in transferring the operations of a newly acquired company to it Galway facilities within an aggressive project timeline. The annual IMDA awards are aimed at promoting and rewarding outstanding performance in the Irish medical technology sector.

In November 2006 Creganna announced that it had acquired Screentech Medical – a specialist moulding solutions provider and shortly thereafter commenced a project to transfer the operations of Co. Wicklow based Screentech to the company headquarters in Galway. Numerous product lines for multiple customers were successfully transferred with minimal disruption to production and within an aggressive project timeline.

Commenting on receipt of the award, Creganna CEO Helen Ryan said “We are delighted to be honoured with this award. It recognizes Creganna’s excellence in manufacturing and operational project management and acknowledges the specialist skills of the Creganna Transfer Team who successfully executed this complex transfer project to an aggressive timeline.”

Excellence in planning and execution of this transfer project was demonstrated by complete customer retention at project completion. In addition to the operational transfer, Creganna began a development program for new innovations within the moulded product line. R&D programs in miniaturized moulding and innovation in material development add a new dimension to the solutions offered while also ensuring that Creganna customers have access to cutting-edge technologies within the medical moulding field.

Creganna was presented with the award last night during a ceremony to conclude the IMDA AGM and CEO forum. The Awards reception was attended by leaders of the Medtech sector in Ireland.
